In "Conversations About Race," Marjy Marj, the author of "The Shimmigrant '' and "Same Elephants," embarks on a personal journey. Propelled by a profound visit to the slave dungeons in Ghana with her American-born son, Marjy examines the impact of discrimination, explores her own ingrained biases, and charts a path towards inclusivity. The book, much like its predecessors, aims to ignite conversations that strive to foster understanding, empathy, and unity.

At its core, the book is a call for embracing our shared humanity, championing diversity and creating a sense of belonging. The underlying theme of the book was inspired by a poem from the author's previous work titled, "The Human Oath."
