The choice of the method of contraception is not an easy matter. Failure may arise from using the wrong methods for individual partners. The editors and contributors to this book use the body and mind approach held by doctors who are members of the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine, addressing the emotional and psychological factors in family planning. The issues addressed include: the unconsicous factors in contraceptive care; care of the younger patient; the man and the method; the sexual needs of people with disability; cultural perceptions and misconceptions; sterilization; and psychosexual problems in the contraceptive consultation.
