Contemporary Duologues for Girls: Shakespeare's plots adapted for a modern world

I have written these contemporary duologues for teenage girls to study, perform and enjoy. The short scenes are loosely based on the themes and characters of some of Shakespeare's well-known and well-loved plays. I have attempted to show that many of Shakespeare's plots and characters are universal and the themes and the emotions of the characters are as relevant to us today as they were at the time of writing. Each scene has an introduction prepared suitable for a range of drama lessons, acting exams, awards, auditions and festival work. Each scene has a short introduction setting the scene in context, giving reference to the play and themes within it. There is also a short synopsis of the Shakespearean play on which the scene is based to aid further understanding of the plot. The locations of the scenes can be altered to suit personal preferences. In an attempt not to be too prescriptive, the staging is also a matter of personal discretion. I hope you enjoy this collection.
