The close relationship between men and their pets has been growing ever since domestication became part of human culture. It's a fact, especially in the last twenty years, that this relationship has taken on dimensions that were hardly conceivable a few decades ago. From this perspective, several factors are extremely important. In this work, the role of communication in the culture of people who relate to or carry out some kind of activity with companion animals is addressed, drawing a parallel between human-human and human-animal communication. Nowadays, the dog has become more than just a pet and has come to be regarded, in many cases, as a friend, confidant and even a member of the family. This relationship between man and dog allows us to become aware of the complexity of communication that exists between man, dog and the environment in which they both live. The issues of communication and culture were studied through quantitative and qualitative research in order to demonstrate the possibility of communication between men and dogs.
