This book focuses on the historical origins of Buyi folk songs and the natural and humanistic environment on which they live, as well as the social life of the Buyi people, and the inheritance carriers and singers. It conducts an ethnographic investigation on the cultural ecology of the Buyi oral folk songs. Combined with some special functions and service objects of Buyi folk songs, it systematically studies seven types of folk songs, including labor production, rituals, life, current affairs, love songs, pan songs, and children''s songs. It deeply discusses the nationality, regionality and group characteristics of Buyi folk songs, and analyzes its literary style, musical style, expression technique and artistic style.
