Beskrivelse
The first half of Colossians is a theological exposition that includes a weighty understanding of Christology. The second half is a Christian ethics exposition in which Paul addresses aspects of the Christian life. Areas covered include individual life, home and family, work and relationships. Paul writes about the Lordship of Jesus Christ and His sufficiency for our lives. This sufficiency applies to our salvation and our sanctification. Believers must know and understand the gospel so that they do not get trapped by legalism and heresy. Christ must be at the centre of our lives as our Saviour and Lord. The Bible, where we learn about Christ, must be the preeminent source of our knowledge, attitudes and actions. Christianity stands on its own as believers strive to apply Christ as the absolute standard of moral conduct and see Him as the basis of our eternal future.
