The "Collected Works of Padraic H. Pearse, Political Writing and Speeches" captures the mind of one of Irelands most noble patriots. Padraic Pearse was a signatory to the 1916 Proclamation that established the Irish Republic, and was a member of the Military Council of the Irish Republican Brotherhood and a senior Military figure in the Irish Volunteers at the time of his execution on the 3rd May 1916. This book captures the passionate speeches Pearse made at the grave of Wolfe Tone, the burial of O'Donovan Rossa and a commemorative lecture of Robert Emmet. The book also gives us a vivid insight into the idealistic nature and ardent militarism of Pearse in the years leading up to the 1916 Rising.
