Coin of the Realm

Two people on opposite sides of the world each inherit a coin - a five guinea gold piece minted in 1750 which, according to the records, should not exist. Along with the coins are two maps which, when united, reveal the location of a treasure worth thirty million dollars. How did the Coin of the Realm come to be and how did it come to be buried on the edge of the known world? Is it still there to be discovered or was it found centuries ago? Nicola MacDonald, student of history in Edinburgh, sets out to answer these questions. Her research leads her to follow in the footsteps of the exiled Prince Charles Stuart and his most loyal adherents during the Jacobite uprising of 1745 and the years of intrigue and espionage that follow, but to find the treasure and solve the mystery of the Coin of the Realm, she must first find the other keeper of the coin, a voyage of discovery that takes her across half the globe and into waters both unchartered and dangerous.
