Code Orange - Code Red - The death of a nation takes the reader through the course of US history and is the story of a president's role in the destruction of the nation. It follows immigrants arriving from the old world and the struggles they deal with after they arrive. With the aid of Josef, who is the school history teacher, the students get to hear accounts from immigrants first hand through their journals, diaries, and actual life experiences, so they can put themselves in the shoes of immigrants landing on the shores of the United States.
