Cockroach Heart is a journey from the borderlands of Arizona to the barren beauty of Afghanistan and on to the lush landscapes of tropical Cambodia and many places in between. What's there at every stop is that resilient heart. Ready to be broken, again, and ready to open itself up to the risks of the new place and to the potential of love.

B.C. Farbo has collected some of her poetry into a poignant discourse on movement and grabbing opportunities along with the hiding and shrugging off of past lives that comes with travel - and the impossibility of leaving everything behind and starting afresh. There's pain but also humor in the stories of discovery, longing, and a little self-loathing.
