The purpose of this Informed Compliance Publication (ICP) is to identify the laws and regulations that are to be adhered to by the trade community engaged in the coastwise transportation of merchandise, such that the trade community is informed of its legal obligations, and in order to maximize voluntary compliance with laws and regulations enforced by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Specifically, in this publication, CBP will summarize: * The "Jones Act" * CBP Regulations * Exceptions * Waivers
