Captain Brooks, head of the LAPD detective division, informs one of his subordinates that weird things are going on in Waterdale. The detective knows Los Angeles fairly well, considers it "the land of fruits and nuts" and isn't too concerned when he hears about crazy or bizarre people anywhere on his beat. When a young girl disappears, however, Detective Brennan focuses his attention on the ramshackle Victorian house that his captain mentioned. Horrendous events follow, and there is more than meets the eye in this normally quiet suburb. Fasten your seat belts --- you're about to take a bumpy ride into a world of intrigue and mayhem. If you find yourself coming up Elk Avenue, you'd better pick up the pace and walk right past the place where Johnathan, Lucille, Jake, Gary, Janet, Jennifer and an undetermined number of others either make their home or just stop by to crash.
