Clinical pediatric surgery is a surgical sub-specialty that involves the diagnostic, operative and postoperative surgical care of children, infants, adolescents and young adults. It deals with conditions including congenital and acquired anomalies and diseases, as well as inflammatory, developmental, traumatic and neoplastic complications. Neonatal surgery and fetal surgery are the two major areas of clinical pediatric surgery. There are several types of diseases that are treated with the help of pediatric surgery.
