Beskrivelse
Cavum cancer represents a particular entity and differs from other squamous cell carcinomas of the head and neck by its characteristic histology, epidemiology, geographical distribution and relationship with the Epstein Barr virus. The objective of our work was to study the epidemiological, clinical, radiological and therapeutic characteristics of cavum cancer.Cavum cancer is still a particular tumor among the other cancers of the ENT sphere. This highly progressive tumor with high metastatic potential occurs in young subjects without risk factors (alcohol abuse) and is clearly associated with the EBV virus. It still suffers from the absence of a reliable serum tumor marker for early diagnosis or prognosis, the absence of a clearly identified oncogene or suppressor gene despite the description of multiple and varied chromosomal anomalies.
