The nine stories that make up this book follow the author through his experiences as a pilot and builder of airplanes and comment on what he learned from these experiences, not only about flying but about staying alive, having fun and life in general. From his first experiences in a small airplane through both civilian and military pilot training and on to a lifetime of varied experiences in many types of aircraft, the author tries to put the reader in the cockpit but also looks back on what these experiences mean to him decades later. He would not have missed them for the world and hopes you won't either.
