Chronology of Religious Life in America

This chronology begins with an overview of religious life in the United States, and then focuses on developments from the settlement of Jamestown by Anglican settlers in 1607 to the Catholic backlash created in response to Nancy Pelosi's late 2008 Meet the Press comments on the church's views of abortion. Two appendices focus on the distribution of major religious groups in the United States and the distribution of various Christian religious denominations in the country.
