Jet yearns to fit in and rid himself of his buried darkness. Believing his chosen university is his best chance for help, the first-year college student is excited to test his magical skills against talented peers. But when trial combat triggers the savage demon inside him, his loss of control alienates his cohort and puts a target on his back.

 

Through it all, Jet makes a few tentative friends while going on virtual reality training missions and searching for a way to dispatch the monster within. But as the brutally competitive spring semester looms near, the determined teen never imagined his most vicious enemies could be hiding in plain sight.
