Beskrivelse
Children's participation in Côte d'Ivoire offers a crucial opportunity to understand the current and potential role of children in the decision-making process. Within the family, every child enjoys the protection of parents and community members. However, some children, sometimes in large numbers, are victims of various forms of violence, whether within the family itself or in the community. That's why every society needs to take action to ensure that children can grow up safe and secure, and protected from all forms of abuse, violence and exploitation. These actions must be based on the involvement and participation of children in the community. Children's structures put vulnerable children at the heart of community development initiatives. To this end, they position children as agents of change through awareness-raising activities on children's rights and duties, and on compulsory schooling for children, especially girls. These children's structures have enabled children in rural communities to be involved in decision-making.
