Beskrivelse
Our children never reach their potential because we stifle them into becoming copies of ourselves and of our culture, brainwashing them into religious fanaticism and consumerism. Respectful parenting allows a child to walk her own path to experience freedom and choice, and chess is a perfect medium to do this safely but effectively. It teaches values like courage and patience, like truth and observation, discipline and caution - from a self-motivated platform where the parent can be on real terms with her son or daughter. Chess-Parenting relates the experiences of a single dad and chess-player, while concisely carving out in Taoist terms what early human development is all about. Those "values" that matter today as much as in Plato's time are what develops the mind and soul of young people, and chess cultivates these values masterfully and by children's own motivation. The much greater respect for children demanded by the author is the central contribution he makes to modern parenting. Another is his prescription for raising IQ and accelerated mind development by transcending Division and finding Oneness.
