The battle at the Cheongcheon River marks a turning point of the Korean War already at its beginning in 1950. In his account, the author particularly highlights the different perspectives and judgements of those involved. He gives colourful insights into the decision-making process in the military headquarters as well as into the hitherto neglected experience of soldiers coping with combat and the horrors of war.
