Natalia didn't expect to land in the middle of nowhere central Mexico as a hotel and bakery owner, but when her grandma dies and leaves them both to her, that's exactly where she is. The joy doesn't last long, though, when one of the hotel's guests is murdered, and the head baker is carted away as the prime suspect.
Several residents in the tranquil, mountain town had more than enough reason to off the out-spoken Clemencia, and the police seem determined to pin the crime on an innocent woman.
Time is running out for Natalia to revamp the hotel, solve the murder, and regain the town's trust. With a murderer on the loose and the gossip mill running rampant, no one is willing to set foot in either the hotel or the bakery. If Natalia can't solve this murder in time, she'll be forced to return to her dead-end job as a failure and leave the only place that has ever felt like home.
