James a sombre widow having no wish to re-marry. Lucy, fell in love with James when they first met five years earlier. They'd last met at a family Christmas one year ago. Only for Lucy to find herself rejected by James following a kiss beneath mistletoe. James regarding Lucy as an beautiful but impressionable young girl. Now they were to meet again Lucy was delighted to learn she could look forward to spending a family Christmas once again, this time in James' home. James, however was not happy with the idea of having Lucy included in the party. Circumstances would change everything, when a tragic accident robbed James of his young brother, and Lucy of her elder sister, and three young children orphaned. Lucy, left seriously injured, and homeless. James taking on the burden of the responsibility of his dead brother's children, decided that he and Lucy should marry. As man and wife they he was sure he could provide a loving home for the children. Lucy both ecstatic and terrified by the idea. knowing James did not return her love. Would she go through with the marriage?
