Remembering the time of the Vietnam War, the impacts of it, the effects it had on us, and our family's life-changing alterations were memories that will never be forgotten. Looking back on the years of 1968 through 1972 are partially vague, but the recollection of the war as seen in the eyes of a fourteen-year-old girl still resonates today. Two brothers, Charles Joseph Chaisson, known as Charlie, and William Paul Chaisson Jr., known as Duddy banded as soldiers in the United States Army. Charlie was stationed in Vietnam and Duddy served in Germany. Two brothers on two separate journeys as they head down two different pathways. As they encounter challenging and unexpected situations, the two boys quickly become men as they face hostile decisions. They find themselves quickly taking on a war that influences their core values, their family's unexpected life-changing experiences, and their new, "Normal" lifestyle. The unpleasant and tragic twists and whirlwind that our family will have to endure will be the most shocking for one of the brothers who do not make it home and the other who was left behind to pick up the pieces.
