Gladys Mouro has dedicated over forty years of her life to improving nursing in Lebanon.

This is her story - continued from her 1975~1998 book, An American Nurse Amidst Chaos - in her own words, of how the uprisings and the covid pandemic of the last few years affected the country, and her own mental health, just as she was expecting to be able to retire in comfort and ease.

Against the background of the August Fourth, 2020 port explosion in Beirut, and the continuing anti-government protests amidst constant administration collapses, Ms Mouro presents a detailed picture of the ongoing crisis in her adopted home with an extraordinary insight into the medical emergency that her decades in the profession lend her.
