Beskrivelse
Captivity: From KGB With Love illustrates the impact of cultural differences. The divide affects every aspect of life from sex and love, language and food, even privacy, loyalty, relationships, and obligations. This fresh perspective shows that when you are torn between allegiances, nothing is ever simple. When you are born into a clandestine heritage, nothing is as it seems. In the words of the main character, "Don't believe everything."
It is a bit of adventure, a little suspense, and periodically a mystery with clues provided throughout to connect the dots, so it would be possible to understand what is actually happening before the characters do. Surprises keep you on your toes and the main character on edge with a life run by everyone else on the planet. This is not a typical story about some foreign spy, or even a tale of espionage and intrigue. It is a saga about feelings, entrapments, coping, understanding and loving-psychological tensions, moral dilemmas- no clear-cut answers, no definite right and wrong. Take time out to experience flashes of another culture, albeit a facsimile, but an educating ride... I was given the button pin on the cover, "From KGB With Love," in 1989.
