Beskrivelse
Charles, duc d'Orleans was imprisoned in England for 25 years, following his capture at the Battle of Agincourt, during which period he composed hundreds of French and English poems. Coldiron's penetrating study considers the affects of Charles' bilingualism on this unusal collection of lyrics and argues that Charles was a poet with multiple identities, using contrasting literary styles and traditions in his English and French work.
