December in Cottageville should be filled with holiday cheer, but for dog groomer Sarah Carter, it's anything but merry.

When a tragic accident involving an out-of-control big rig crashes into the Cottageville Library-leaving her friend and love interest Jared Greene injured-Sarah's peaceful holiday season takes a gut-wrenching turn. While tending to Jared's recovery and keeping her dog grooming business, Carter's Canine Coiffure, afloat, Sarah and her loyal Australian cattle dog, Whiskey, find themselves caught up in two unsettling mysteries.

After a new-in-town candy pop-up shop owner is attacked, Sarah and Whiskey are determined to sniff out the truth and track down the culprit. But just as they begin unraveling the case, Sarah starts receiving anonymous threats-disturbing letters and packages that hint at a danger lurking closer than she realizes.

As Sarah juggles solving crimes, running her shop, and helping Jared heal and deal with life, she'll have to rely on her sharp instincts, her trusty sidekick Whiskey, her assistant Emily Colt, and the support of her tight-knit town.
