Beskrivelse
In 1776, Enoch Perley left behind the comforts of his home for the wilderness of Maine. He hewed out a clearing in the woods and built a sturdy cabin. His wife Anna soon joined him bringing to the new settlement its most unusual resident, a ten year old African slave girl, Cloe. Together, they suffered the hardships of the wilderness, fires, epidemics, and wild beasts. Working with their neighbors, they created the town of Bridgton, Maine. This is their story.
