This book presents basic shifting studies to second, third, and fourth positions in C major for the intermediate violist. With an emphasis on spacing in each position, the exercises use same-finger shifting to move through the viola positions. This book would be helpful after Third Position for the Viola, and can be followed by Serial Shifting for the Viola.
