Beskrivelse
Busyness keeps us from prayer, intimacy with God, and ultimately from God. At best, we then know Him only superficially. And in our walk with God, we walk off balance and lean toward either being monastic toward God and separated from our fellow man or having a superficial connection with God and becoming overburdened and overworked ministering to man until we get to the point of burnout. God has called man to know Him, and to know others. Busyness can interfere with knowing God in the way He intended, to love Him with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, which Jesus said is the greatest commandment. And it can interfere with the second command, which is like unto the first, to love thy neighbor as thyself. Upon these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. As a result, we fail to keep the primary directive given us, and we miss our ultimate joy that we find only in relationships and the abundant life Jesus promised us. Our greatest joy comes not from the things we do, or the things possessed, but in the relationships we build with God and others.
