As the victim of a violent burn-out in 2020, I struggled for two long years to recover. This healing journey has allowed me to now have a precise understanding of what happened to me.

No, a burnout is not just a case of feeling run down, it's a real medical affliction with actual wounds and sometimes serious consequences.

No, a burnout doesn't just happen because you're fed up with everything, because you're stressed out or overwhelmed! The underlying causes of a burn-out are not necessarily what you imagine them to be.

We play many roles in our daily life and, when these roles are in stark opposition to the values held by our deepest self for too long, we find ourselves alienated, and burn-out is not far off. Understanding this phenomenon is all the more important since the preventive measures are somewhat counterintuitive.

I hope to share this painful, yet educational experience with the people who need it most: people who themselves are victims of burn-out or who are simply in an at-risk situation, as well as people involved in the professional world or the medical field who aim to combat this scourge.
