Proposed Solano City Latest in Long Line of Planned Communities

Unlike many proposed new suburban communities, which focus mainly on houses with some tangential retail, religious and commercial projects, California Forever plans to build a more traditional city complete with a downtown and walkable communities. It utilizes all the New Urbanist buzzwords. The group is gathering signatures to place before voters a measure that would re-jigger the county's master plan (necessary because of the Orderly Growth Initiative that voters overwhelmingly approved in 1984 and then was extended in 1994 and 2008). It makes the following promise:
