Millions of Polish books were destroyed in Poland by Germany during World War II. After the relocation of the German-Polish border 1945, millions of German books from public and private collections, found their way into a new national context of Polish libraries. The present volume places books as bearers of material but also immaterial historical migrations in a context strongly affected by the memory of the war.
