Beskrivelse
President Brigham Young understood wealth—how to acquire it and how to use it in the Lord's service. And he spent much of his time passing that understanding on to the Saints he so ably governed. His aim was not just to preserve life or to promote comfort and convenience but to build the kingdom of God and establish Zion.
Those who followed his counsel were able to establish cities and settlements, to provide for themselves and their neighbors, turning dry deserts into fields and farmlands, with orchards and gardens to please the eye and gladden the heart.
In our modern world, some of Brother Brigham's counsel may seem outdated. Few of us now have the ability to keep a cow or spin wool into yarn. But if we can understand and apply the principles behind his teaching, we can do much to improve our lives and enhance our self-reliance. The purpose of this book is to help us do that.
