Broken Crayons Still Color: There's Purpose In Painful Experiences

Before reading my memoir ask yourself

Does a crayon lose its ability to color when it's broken?

What crayon are you?

Are you the broken crayon with sharp edges that tears down others before they can harm you? Or are you the unwrapped crayon that has become so exposed that you go around secretly or openly exposing others' hurt and pain knowingly or unknowingly just because someone did the same thing to you? The dull crayon forgets that it was created to add color to one's life. It has become dull, hides away in dark places, calling it my secret place, and begins to no longer enjoy life. Then there's the melted crayon that doesn't realize its unique color was never intended to be melted with others, but out of fear melted and blended with others and forgot what it was created to be and do with its uniqueness. The over-sharpened crayon becomes the overachiever because it feels like as long as it stays sharp no one can reach its standard of color, but never delights in the beauty that was created from it.

Few people will discover God's plan for their lives because they are still believing the lies spoken into them by our enemy, Satan. Satan attacks God's very word that has already been established on the earth. We hide our God-given gifts, passions, and talents out of fear of rejection. We misdirect our unhealthy or healthy views of our natural fathers in building our relationship with our heavenly Father. God can be guilty by association.

Our failures and mistakes are the very things that God uses.

That broken crayon still has the ability to color and you, even in your brokenness, still have the ability to color the world with the gifts that God has planted in you.
