The statute of limitations is running out on a bank robbery that occurred in small-town Hattiesburg, Mississippi and the 2011 case remains unsolved. The original suspect, positively identified as Marcus Denton, was pursued by police after the robbery whose chase ended when his vehicle ran over an embankment into an alligator infested swamp. Finding no remains other than a knapsack, Denton was officially declared dead. When he recently returned to Hattiesburg very much alive, the townspeople were in a frenzy and wanted him arrested.
Meanwhile, in Salem, Massachusetts a grieving father was relentlessly bombarding police to re-arrest the person who in 2010 was suspected of breaking into his home and taking the life of his daughter even though he had been arrested, tried and exonerated in court. Dale Scham claimed he had new evidence in the case and that the original suspect should again be arrested, jailed and re-tried.
Unsolved and cold, these were the next two challenges for the investigative law firm of Howell, Bascom, Green & Trimmer in St. Petersburg, Florida, whose reputation for solving the unsolved was unparalleled. With a deadline looming, Maxwell Gardner was assigned to the robbery, and knowing there was a possibility that the rule of Double Jeopardy might apply, Peter Sutherland took on the robbery/homicide case.
"Writing the Wrongs" one novel at a time, in this, her 15th novel, Ms. Wojcik has again woven a web of twists, turns and 'zingers' into a book you won't forget. A real page turner.
