Breaking The Walls Of Your City: a brief study on the book of Nehemiah

When I used to read Ezra and Nehemiah I'd think well here's God telling us how to build the walls and the temple, for a city without walls is plundered. I am the temple and I am the city so building the temple is how I grow spiritually and become the perfect temple of God so he can dwell in me and feel at home... during this process there needs to be cleansing there needs to be dos and don'ts and those dos and don'ts create the walls around my city.. so the enemy cannot get in and I'm protected from all harm. The problem with this theological doctrine is that I tried it, I lived it, but it was a miserable failure... and don't tell me I did something wrong, I was very good at it... so much that after I finished building my own walls I was asking others to do the same and would carry some heavy burdens for them too in order to see their walls built and their city safe from the attacks of the enemy. But now I'd like to invite you on a journey of studying the book of Nehemiah together with the Holy Spirit guiding us on every step.
