Officer Lexie Sarconi is preparing for the detective's exam and finding her footing with a new unit. However, everything that she's worked so hard to achieve is about to crash and burn. The criminals have declared war on the police. No one is safe, and when Lexie ends up trapped in an ambush, nothing will ever be the same again.

But as a police officer, Lexie knew the risks. She swore an oath to uphold the law, but her boyfriend, Detective Michael Riley, feels differently. Lexie fears the lengths Riley is willing to go.
