A "historical fiction" or pre history account of a boy in a primitive society who learns to "set bones" for others who are injured. Similarly to Jean Auel's Ayla, he discovers other primitive technologies. His mastery of these skills gradually elevates his post in his society from despised and downtrodden to highly respected and admired.
