Beskrivelse
'Body of Poetry' is a collection of 70 poems by B.T. Joy; one half of which have been previously published in magazines and anthologies worldwide and the remaining half of which are unpublished. The collection deals very strongly with literary allusion and the work and life stories of writers as diverse as Catullus, Horace, Frank O'Hara, Auden and Jane Hirshfield are discussed and revisited throughout the volume. Many of the poems have a strongly surrealist feel and in some pieces automation, found poetry and other surrealist techniques were utilised in the writing process. Many of the poems have been included in surrealist magazines though there are also some more traditional pieces here too.
