This is a collection of true stories about life in central Kentucky (the Bluegrass area) and the mountains of eastern Kentucky and Virginia. Mr. Fox was a prolific writer in the late 1800's and early 1900s. He chronicles his experiences fox hunting, log rafting, fishing, raccoon hunting as well as being a member of a civilian police guard in eastern Kentucky that helped stem the tide of feuding and violence that threatened the local populace. The stories are a wonderful snapshot of an era and time long gone.
