In the quaint, suburban chaos of Maple Lane, resides Blargh, a plump, imperious feline with delusions of grandeur, and his unwitting human minion, Sammy Slick, a 12-year-old with a heart as golden as his cat's fur is black. Blargh, firmly believing himself to be the supreme overlord of Earth, views Sammy, his parents, and even his baby sister, Susie, as subjects in his vast, yet cozy kingdom. This humorous young adult adventure begins with Blargh's internal monologues and his daily "royal decrees" to the Slick family, all of which are, of course, blissfully misunderstood by his human counterparts.

Our story kicks off when Blargh decides that his current napping spot - a worn-out cushion by the window - is beneath an overlord of his stature. Thus begins his quest for the Ultimate Throne, a napping spot so perfect, so comfortable, that it is fit for a king. However, this is no easy feat in the bustling Slick household. Sammy, with his incessant video games, and Susie, with her high-pitched giggles, create an atmosphere of constant turmoil.
