In this eerie late 1800s novel, after attending her aunt's funeral Makenna Rose stays at the manor awaiting the inheritance arrangements. As she spends her dreary days at her late aunt's house, she discovers a terrible secret that her other aunt, Elizabeth, and her husband plan to carry on. Their plan casts a dark shadow over the revelations at the manor when Makenna happens to witness a dark crime. After gathering a brief moment of courage, Makenna decides to bring the culprits to justice, sacrificing her own peace and safety. After several failed attempts to uncover her aunt's crimes, Makenna decides to share these dark secrets with someone she knows, not realizing that she might just become a victim of her aunt's sinister plot.

Will Makenna escape the manor before her aunt catches up with her in an attempt to uncover these crimes, or will another ominous deed be done before the hands of justice reach the cursed place...?.
