The purpose of the book titled "Black History Reading Challenge" is to allow kindergarten through fifth grade children to learn the historical accomplishments and struggles of African Americans. By connecting children with history, they will gain a better understanding of themselves regardless of what color they may be. And, the children will learn to develop compassion and concern for other people.
