A former journalist, broadcaster and author looks back over an exciting and rewarding life which took him from a small town in Ireland to many corners of the world. He lived and worked in the best of times and the worst of times, covering everything from the Troubles in Ireland to the Cold War threat in Europe.In between, his duties took him to such diverse places as the United States, Africa, the Caribbean and the Falkland Islands.But this book is not primarily about trouble and violence, although that comes into it in part.
