In this book, The Biochemical Guide to Antibiotics, the authors tried to demonstrate the high degree of antibiotics used in pharmacology. The mechanism of their action is provided and is often based on the inhibition of the synthesis of microbial proteins, which are necessary for their functioning. The book presents the history, discovery, chemical structure of the drugs, the spectrum of antibacterial activity and the mechanisms of these antibiotics. The mechanisms of bacterial resistance, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics are also described.
