The book of Numbers describes the journey of the Israelites from Mount Sinai to the borders of the Promised Land. It contains a set of laws that define the structure of Israel as the nation selected by God. These laws guide Israel on how to live in order to continue to obtain divine blessings during their pilgrimage and in the future, during the conquest and colonization of Canaan.
