While visiting a museum on our favorite German island Borkum in the North Sea a showcase with thousands of glass bottles came to my eyes. Each of them was filled with sand. Each bottle had the name of the origin beach on it. The islands ranged from Sylt over Mallorca to Hawaii, islands in the black sea, the Caspian sea, the Caribbean ocean, the Atlantic ocean to the Pacific ocean over beaches and bays in the North Sea, Baltic Sea and Mediterranean, - thus around the whole world. They had been collected by a sailor, either personally or the sand samples had been dispatched to him. To my surprise each sand sample looked different: The colour of the sand ranged from light white over yellowish to black. The form ranged from smallest grains over rougher grains to smaller little stones. Even on one single island the sand differs from bay to bay. Sand occurs thus in completely different forms, but our intuition identifies each form as sand. The same substance in different forms and shapes Or take the different colours of the light spectrum as different religions or worldviews like Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, Taoism, atheism, esotericism. They symbolize the different perspectives of the viewer. As a simplification Christianity is more anchored in the western world and Buddhism more in the eastern world. What is the true core of the theories of Buddha and Jesus? In spite of all differences both teachings are very similar We will carve out the light. What is the common core? What are the connecting elements of the large world religions Buddhism and Christianity? Humans can experience enlightenment and salvation, rebirth and resurrection, can free themselves from suffering and guiltiness. Man is not condemned to the suffering In Buddhism the access to salvation is via the inwards orientation - via the own body - and in Christianity it is via the outwards orientation - by love towards the fellow men. You are welcome to the journey, which can change your life
