Beskrivelse

Leena Frazer never got over her first love from high school, Michael Everly. But she went on with her life. She got married and had two children and runs a successful bed and breakfast inn on the beautiful coastline of Rhode Island. While searching online for a band to hire for the inn, she discovers Michael's band. She does not hire him but instead decides to go see him perform at a festival. Her marriage never lived up to her expectations of what true love should be. She had felt ignored and taken for granted by her husband, Bruce. For this reason, she gives herself permission to pursue the love she knew all along was the one she never should have left behind. At thirty-nine, this is her second chance. Concurrently, Leena finds an eighteen years old girl, Jackie, down by the water, between the rocks, near her inn and saves her from a suicide attempt. Eventually, she takes Jackie in and gives her a job and a place to live. This does not go over well with Bruce. Leena constantly defends Jackie. These opposite feelings about Jackie put Leena and Bruce at odds many times. But what really makes Leena turn away from her husband is her ever-growing obsession with Michael. Jackie becomes an asset in some ways but also a major hindrance as she struggles to get her life together which interferes with Leena's secret life.
