Betty

BETTY is the daughter of Irish immigrants and the second oldest of six children who grew up on a farm in the rural area of Kentucky. Betty falls in love and marries Arvin, who has big city dreams, and follows him to Chicago. While Arvin is realizing his city dreams, Betty is thrust into the world of bootlegging during prohibition, and prostitution during the great depression. As Betty struggles to find her own city dreams, she meets a young boy who will change her life forever. Betty's story can be read as a metaphor for our own journey through life or what truly makes us happy.
